Biography
Having children and
grandchildren sometimes makes one consider the
legacy and the world that they are leaving to
their posterity. During the 22 years in the
Marine Corps and having traveled the globe,
Randy developed a deep abiding respect and
gratitude for our country and the system of
government that our Founding Fathers made great
personal sacrifices to give us.
After retirement and coming
back to a “civilian life,” it was shocking to
him to discover how much our elected officials
have blatantly violated our state and federal
constitutions and
have squandered our freedoms and American way of
life that he was so willing to give his life to
protect and defend.
For over 22 years, Randy
made an
oath not only made a verbal oath, but also with
his heart “to support and defend the
Constitution against all enemies foreign and
domestic” and that during his years of service
it was against “the foreign enemy.” He realized
that his oath as an American veteran was still binding and
that now it was time to begin defending the
Constitution against the “DOMESTIC ENEMY” and
that he needed to continue his service to his
community, state, and country.
While researching the
circumstances and issues surrounding Alabama’s
Supreme Court
Chief Justice, Roy Moore (Also known as the
10 commandments judge), Randy came across an
article on the “Focus on the Family” website
advertising rallies in support of Chief
Justice Moore to be held on the steps of every Capitol
in the United States and that these rallies were
being sponsored by the Constitution Party.
Randy is
committed to building a political party that is
dedicated to restoring the Constitution to these
United States of America. After
reading the impressive and well-defined
Constitution Party
Platform in 2004, he was motivated and
energized. The platform defined the very values
that he and his family had always embraced and
believed in. Randy helped organize the
party in January 2004, by becoming its first
Vice-Chairman. In January 2006, he became
the Chairman of the state party and filled that
role until March 13, 2010. Since July,
2006, Randy has served as Chairman of the
Constitution Party's Midwestern United States
Region, which includes 12 states in which he is
responsible to help them build their parties. Randy
is also a board
member of the
Veteran’s Coalition, which is an
official extension of the Constitution Party
focused on bringing veterans on board to help us
save our nation.
In 2006, after being
denied ballot access, Randy ran for Governor of Illinois as
a write-in candidate. On November 7, 2006, Randy
received 19,020 officially recorded votes, smashing the
previous record set by
Ralph Nader in 2004.
Randy is currently a
member of the board of directors of
FREE
(Free and Equal Elections). FREE is an
organization that was founded by Christina Tobin
and is dedicated to leveling the playing field
for all political parties within the nation to
be able to have an equal opportunity to provide
candidates that people can vote for.
Randy has a spiritual
legacy that was handed down through generations
on both sides of his family. His grandfathers
on both sides of his family were Nazarene
preachers and pastors. His own parents have been
the pastors of a small Nazarene Church in
Illinois. (The
Church of the Nazarene has its root in the
Methodist church and Wesleyan doctrines).

Randy always had the time,
energy and the necessary dedication to serve on
several church boards no matter where he and his
family lived. As a board member he experienced a
particularly difficult period in which a church
split occurred. Through his leadership and
ability to deal effectively with conflict
resolution, they were able to repair and rebuild
relations within the organization. However, as difficult as it was, it was
also a time of reflection and tremendous
learning. Individual struggles, if used
constructively, provide opportunity to build
strength. He learned to be better organized and
work with others in a more productive,
supportive way.
For the majority of the
time, while stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA,
Randy and his family attended the First Church
of the Nazarene in Vista, CA. In 1989, Randy was asked to help
develop a church in Fallbrook and so
he and his family worked with John and Marty
Maynard in the small church that met at the
local community center to minister to the people
of the First Church of the Nazarene.
